drug addiction & emotional disorders; an overview to definitions and diagnosis

one of the main important and challenging issues in substance use disorders is the comorbidity of diseases. in fact, substance use disorder falls into a special circumstance that is unlike any other disease in medical science. substance abuse patients typically and on purpose use illegal drugs (poison) in aim of damaging their nervous system and change function of their brains by applying substances. least affect that is made by even one time of substance abuse is to change reinforcement system of the brain which makes permanent changes in molecular system, cells, structures and brain function. ultimately, we could tell that we are confronting a different brain than a brain of a healthy individual. this damaged brain is prone to various functional disorders, so called disruptions due to substance consumption. of course it should always be considered that sometimes underlying problems of the structure of nervous system suscept the patient to both addiction and mental illnesses. i will discuss further notes regarding substance dependence disorders and the comorbid emotional disorders.
